Chris Schwarz

Chris Schwarz was named site vice president of Palisades Power Plant in February 2007. As Site Vice President, Chris is responsible for the overall operation and maintenance of Palisades, a single-unit pressurized water reactor that generates 798 megawatts in Covert, Michigan. As a new member of the Entergy Nuclear fleet, Chris will help bring Entergy’s core values to Palisades and drive his leadership team to deliver top decile performance.

Before coming to Palisades, Chris was vice president of operations support for Entergy Nuclear Northeast. In this role, he was responsible for support organizations for all four Entergy nuclear sites in the Northeast. Support organizations include Licensing, Information Technology, Corporate Quality Assurance, Materials, Purchasing & Contracts, Planning, Scheduling & Outages, Nuclear Support and Training.

Chris served as General Manager, Plant Operations of Entergy’s Indian Point Energy Center, from July 2002 until June 2005. As General Manager of Plant Operations, Chris was responsible for the safe and efficient operation of two 1065 Mwe Westinghouse 4 loop pressurized water reactors.

Before joining Entergy, Chris worked at Millstone Station as Station Director in Operations. He held various leadership positions in work management, operations and training. Prior to Millstone, Chris worked for the Institute of Nuclear Power Operations and provided leadership as shift manager at Peach Bottom Atomic Power Station.

Chris received his bachelor’s degree in Engineering from Widener University, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. He held an NRC SRO License, Peach Bottom Atomic Power and two certifications; NRC SRO Certification, Peach Bottom Atomic Power Station; GE SRO Certification, BWR 6, Perry Simulator. Chris served as an Engineering Watch Supervisor, U.S.S. Lafayette SSBN 616 for the United States Navy and received a Navy Achievement Medal for leadership and professional achievement while serving onboard U.S.S. Lafayette.-
